Jessica and Jamie are the sweetest couple! I met Jessica at the Richmond Bridal Show in January of 2013 and we immediately hit it off! It was like talking to a close friend! She and her mom decided on the spot to mark photographer off their list and took advantage of our show special!
Their beautiful day started off at her parent’s home in Brandermill with amazing hair and makeup by Megan Smith. She did an awesome job on the girls and they were all stunning! A beautiful rainy morning as Jamie and Jessica prepared to make their vows to each other to live faithfully in marriage and love for the rest of their lives. The rain cleared up just before it was time for the ceremony and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful addition to the landscape with the sparkly grass and the reflective concrete to add the to images of the ceremony! We are so excited that Jamie and Jessica chose Hoot Media for their videography and photography for this wedding! Check out more from their wedding day below!
Jessica had these converse specially embroidered with her new married name to switch into at the reception for dancing the night away! Such an adorable idea and they turned out so well – in the wedding colors to boot!
Jamie and his buddies were so entertaining to photograph – I would take the group – arrange them into a comfortable group position and then take the shot. I check my camera for opened eyes, good smiles, technical aspects and in a good majority there was always love a silliness showing through! They were such a warm and friendly group altogether and were a pleasure to photograph! You’ll see later that they were up for almost anything I threw at them and played the part perfectly!
Jessica, Jamie, their family, and their friends injected so much laughter and joy into the day. There was certainly never a dull moment – even during group shots!
The ceremony was beautiful with the misty rain sprinkling, the personal vows that Jamie and Jessica wrote for each other, and the beautiful backdrop of the City of Richmond from the Boathouse at Rockett’s Landing.
We had a reasonable list of group shots we were asked to get but we definitely had a little extra time leftover since those went so smoothly that we were able to try out some more fun ideas (Pinterest for the win!) that I’ve been dying to get a group to do! Thanks so much Jamie and all your guys for being up for a little playtime!
They couldn’t be much more of a stunning couple could they? Loved every second of these bride and groom moments! That 10 minutes of quiet is sometimes the best moments of the day. Allowing the couple to just enjoy the fact that they are finally married and the fun they have in store for them when they go back in to their reception!
I also have to give a quick shout-out to the Boathouse staff – they are always so accommodating and bring drinks and snacks down to the wedding party and the couple while they are awaiting being announced! Such a thoughtful thing to do and really gets everyone in a great mood for the reception!
This was one of the most beautiful cakes I had ever seen. If I, personally, could redo my wedding (for a third time) I’d choose this cake hands down! It also was delicious!!
