Bumgarner Wedding – April 19th, 2014, Family Home in Mankin Sabot, Va

Emily and Ryan had been friends so long they didn’t even realize they were dating.. they just kept hanging out… a little more each day and then they realized, “Hmm, I don’t really want to do anything without this other person.” How awesome to start a relationship as the very best of friends! Their love is evident in all of these photos and their family is so sweet and welcoming! We had a great time shooting this wedding and it was close to home as many of the guests are relatives of mine!

I actually met Ryan first who works with my husband’s cousin, Tim Drake, of Drake’s Lawn Care and when Tim heard Ryan’s big proposal news he immediately recommended me to be there to capture their day. I was honored to do so! As you can see by the detailed shots and the getting-ready portion of the post, this wedding was an all-in family affair! All hands on deck made this awesome wedding happen at Ryan’s family’s home in Mankin Sabot, Va. It was such a beautiful property and pulling up there are trees lining either side of the driveway and beautiful fences everywhere! You’ll see both of these later in the post make their appearance!

This tree is a prominent feature next to the small lake in the front of the property. I was so excited to see the chairs set up directly in front of it knowing it would make a fantastic backdrop for their intimate ceremony. Emotions were high for Emily’s very close sisters who were both bridesmaids in the wedding party. So much love!!

One of my favorite moments is right after the first kiss when the newlywed bride and groom look at each other and that smile is worth a million bucks! bumgwed16

The guys looked so handsome in their tan suits which fit the season perfectly. Her mint green and light peach color palette were a beautiful combination for this rural setting!

How beautiful does Emily look in this dress that looks like it was made just to fit her?! I love the way the wind swept the veil in these shots and the willow tree creates such a beautiful texture! Her earrings were borrowed from her aunt (who literally took them off when she got there! Haha!). Another fun tidbit is that Emily didn’t request what type of flowers she wanted in her bouquet. She just told the florist the colors and let them do the rest! I think they were some of the most beautiful flowers I’ve seen and such a wonderful soft textured combination of colors!

Emily and her dad danced to “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” from Toy Story and it was an emotional, wonderful thing to watch. They are SO cute together aren’t they?

No one at this wedding was too shy to dance! It was a fun party for sure and LOTS of hilarious and creative moves on the dance floor which kept everyone laughing and smiling and having a great time!

After a rather gray day, the sunset (which we weren’t sure we’d get to see) was SPECTACULAR!! We were SO thrilled to be able to capture these sunset shots!!
